2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?

2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The genre is Dub-Step. The audience which I purposely targeted is teenagers in their late school or college students, roughly from aged 16-19. We give constructive depiction of this social group because this age group tends to be know as a troublesome or difficult years since it is at the peak of adolescence
I have chosen this photo from vibe magazine showing the image of Eminem to compare to my front cover photo of me and explain how my magazine represents a particular social group. Both of the people in a way which have similar camera shots. The photo of the artist show him holding a speaker towards the camera shows that he wants the reader and the audience to digest the connotations of the magazine, the photo of Eminem shows him staring into the camera lens and this suggests that he want the reader to try and decrypt his mind. Both facial expressions on the artist are similar, however the artist on the Dub Step magazine is more of a cheeky smile, which makes the magazine look more light hearted however with the power of the speaker to influence the power of the music genre. The artist is wearing a dark coloured jacket with a dark coloured shirt underneath whereas Eminem is wearing a black vest with a chain which both types of clothing would be the types of clothes my audience would wear depending of the season. Both artist have a look of conviction towards the camera which shows there passion for their music, this is mirrored by the passion that young urban people tend to have for there types of music genres.
